Ill be launching out of Newport Early, I will be Sabiki Smelt, at the dock And work on finding some Halibut outside. Anyone welcome to join me.

that may be good - what launch? are you using 14 hooks or 12? bread or squid?

I take balboa street all the way down to the end past K street. You can make sabiki smelt there pretty easily with bread. Its tediuous but not to hard if the sun is out. i use size 14 inch hooks. Squid will help to if you can use it for the mackeral at the end of the jetty.

The wind was crazy today! at 1 point in the harbor i was taking wind chop over the side of the kayak, and i almsot took a dunk!

couldnt make any bait, with how bad the wind is... fished plastic for a liuttle while they i couldnt take it.  just got back in.

Hope you did better down in Dana?

Went to Dana, looked at cold water and wind and no kayaks. Drove to Newport hoping less wind and the red flag was up at Coast Guard so I came home and unloaded my kayak.  Really wanted to try out my Hobie Bait tank but not today!

Glad you got off the water safely Gino.

Tomorrow, Friday and Saturday I am booked for other adventures.  Sunday may work if the weather decent.

5 foot drop from 9:15am high.
